Damn... This seasonal offering from Founders Brewing Company is no joke. KBS clocks in around 11% alcohol and is "a stout is brewed with a hint of coffee and vanilla then aged in oak bourbon barrels for over a year". A bit pricey at $20 a 4-pack , but still a great stout regardless.
Appearance: Black, and dark. Like staring into a black hole.
Smell: Coffee beans, and a hint of Bourbon, a little vanilla as well.
Taste: Coffee taste up front, just like the smell. A little chocolate taste as well, with a bourbon aftertaste. The bourbon is not overpowering at all.
Drinkability: Safe to say that just one of these is enough, a great beer, but wouldn't want to over indulge.
Overall Rating: 4/5
